LA TARDE NATURAL RESERVE

Our reserve spans nearly 100 hectares of mostly primary forest (70% of the property), a vital treasure in Costa Rica's effort to preserve its natural heritage. Connected to Corcovado National Park, this reserve is more than a sanctuary—it's a lifeline for biodiversity and a shining example of how conservation and community development go hand in hand.

The Role of Natural Reserves

Natural reserves like ours play a crucial role in protecting biodiversity, preventing deforestation, and maintaining the health of our planet. They serve as vital refuges for countless species and act as bridges, connecting protected areas like Corcovado National Park to ensure wildlife can move freely.

At the same time, reserves like this show how rural tourism can empower communities, enabling locals to share their culture and traditions while protecting the resources they've cherished for generations.

Locally Owned, Globally Important

The reserve is proudly owned and managed by a local family who is deeply committed to protecting this extraordinary landscape. Through their stewardship, the reserve not only safeguards vital ecosystems but also supports the surrounding communities by fostering sustainable rural tourism.

This project demonstrates how conservation can create opportunities for people, offering livelihoods that honor the environment and strengthen local economies. By visiting, you directly contribute to these efforts, ensuring that both nature and the community thrive.

Explore Through Scenic Trails

Our reserve invites you to discover its beauty through a network of trails that wind through the heart of the forest. These paths are designed to immerse you in the wonders of nature, offering encounters with wildlife, breathtaking scenery, and moments of tranquility.

As you walk, you'll experience the richness of primary forest ecosystems. From the calls of howler monkeys to the dazzling colors of tropical birds and the hidden marvels of insects and fungi, every step tells a story of resilience and interconnectedness.

Biodiversity Monitoring

This project focuses on examining and tracking wildlife biodiversity in our Natural Reserve. By strategically placing camera traps throughout the reserve, we will collect data on species presence, abundance, and behavior, enhancing our understanding of the local ecosystem and supporting conservation initiatives.

You're contributing to a project that protects the environment while providing sustainable income for local families.
